Sirince Village of Selçuk district, located in the south of Izmir, is one of the touristic spots of Izmir. In 2012, Sirince, which experienced the peak of its popularity, was flooded by tourists who believed that the apocalypse would not break. The end of the Mayan calendar in 2012 revealed rumors of the apocalypse and it was claimed that Şirince would be the only place protected from this apocalypse. The apocalypse may not have happened in 2012, but Sirince has added fame to its reputation.
